County of Maui
In 2023, Pilina First partnered with the County of Maui and Mayor Richard Bissen to develop video messaging supporting the phased reopening of visitor travel following the Maui wildfires.
Mayor Bissen delivered a message to the community outlining the path forward, while a companion video featuring Maui residents provided context for visitors about the challenges the community faced in the immediate aftermath of the fires and throughout the ongoing recovery. The messaging invited visitors to return with understanding, care, and respect for the island and its people.
